Terrance Vlach founded Emergent after seeing a clear need among local businesses and organizations: practical guidance for identifying operational inefficiencies, reducing technology-related cost overruns, and building stronger long-term relationships with our clients. From the beginning, the goal was to offer more than transactional vendor sales and support. Emergent was built to provide long-term, personalized relationships with trusted advisors who provide reliable, responsive service tailored to each client’s business model.
Terrance opened the business in 1986 as Reliance Teleservices from a small, one-room office suite on 2nd Street SW in Rochester, Minnesota. Drawing on his experience as a service manager in the telecom industry, he set out to create a better client-support model—one built on responsiveness, trust, and long-term relationships.
After the original company was sold in 2011, continued demand from local business clients encouraged Terrance to develop a more expanded organization and return to a hands-on role leading day-to-day operations. In 2018, he launched Emergent Business Technologies, now a trusted business technology advisor serving hundreds of clients across Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.
Our primary objective is to provide business owners and organizations with the tools they need to succeed through integrated technology solutions tailored to their specific business models.
With the ongoing support of our experienced team members and trusted resources, Emergent helps clients strengthen operations, adopt effective technologies, and pursue new opportunities for growth.
Emergent Business Technologies provides business phone systems, internet service for business, and video and sound systems to the Southeast MN area.
